Revere and the Commission on Disabilities held its Second Annual All Abilities Day a few weeks ago on Revere Beach. Partners and sponsors of the event include Revere Parks and Recreation, DCR Universal Access Group, Massachusetts Office on Disabilities, Save the Harbor Save the Bay, and Wayside Adventures. The purpose of the event was to provide equipment to disabled residents of Revere so that they could safely enjoy both the beach and the water. In case you haven’t noticed, CVS is now open at its new location of 467 Broadway. RevereTV covered its official grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony on August 11th. Mayor Patrick Keefe, School Committee and City Council members, and the local CVS team were there to support the grand opening of the store and speak on how the location will impact the City of Revere. This ceremony is posted to the RTV YouTube page and is scheduled to the Community Channel as well.
The City of Revere, in partnership with Amazon, held its annual backpack giveaway and back to school celebration. Mayor Patrick Keefe, Superintendent Dr. Dianne Kelly, Representative Jeff Turco, and other community leaders were at Revere High School on August 12th to help distribute backpacks and bike helmets to school children.
